Common Application Available
Most of you know, but some of you may not, that the Common Application is now available online. The Common Application allows you to apply to (for a fee) over 400 colleges and universities in the United States. What started out as a way for small private schools to manage the growing number of admission applications has turned into the larges "common" college application in the world...and it will only continue to grow.
So, what does this mean for you?
Well, it means that, if you have not already, you need to get off of your duff and get crackin'. Filling out the application the week before the deadline makes absolutely no sense. You need to create an account on the common application website and familiarize yourself with the application itself. You do not need to fill anything out right now, just get familiar with what the application looks like, how to enter information, what kind of information it asks for, etc. Then you can make a plan an organize your information for when you fill out the application in the coming weeks. You will also want to figure out what the supplemental questionnaire looks like and what questions you will have to write about and how they apply to the schools you are interested in.
Don't take this lightly as this is probably one of the biggest decisions in your young life. Spend some time and do it right.
